PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the max. output level in a head characteristic at the part where bias current is large by using a material having the magnetic permeability lower than the magnetic permeability in a lower magnetic material film part in forming a magnetic film part positioned on the detaching side of a recording medium, i.e. an upper magnetic material film part. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head is constituted by forming a coil part 3 on a lower magnetic material film part 2 which consists of a material having high magnetic permeability and is formed on a base material 1 and forming further an upper magnetic material film part 4 on the part 3. The part 4 is formed of a material having the same highly saturated magnetic flux density as that of the part 2 and is formed of the material having the magnetic permeability lower than that of the part 2. The change rate in the magnetic permeability (derivative of magnetic permeability) in the lower magnetic field of about 5-10Oe is thus made large. There is therefore no magnetic saturation from the low magnetic field and the decrease in the max. output level of the head characteristic in the region where bias current is large is prevented. |
