PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of transfer of a carriage and to prolong the life of an index belt by inserting a noncircular washer between the index belt and a screw locking the noncircular washer and tightening the screw. CONSTITUTION:A circular washer 9 and a square noncircular washer 11 are inserted between a metallic belt and the screw 10 and they are screwed. In screwing them, the noncircular washer 11 tightens the screw 10 while being locked by a locking jig 12 fitted externally. When the screw tightening is finished, the locking jig 12 is removed from the noncircular washer 11. The torque at screw tightening is not applied directly to the index belt, then torsional deformation is produced. Thus, the relation between the rotary angle of the driving motor and the carrying distance of the carriage is kept constant and no excessive stress is applied to the index belt, then the service life of the belt is extended. |
