PURPOSE:To provide an adhesive which is suitable for use in the restoration of teeth, can be firmly bonded to teeth, metal, org. high-molecular materials, etc. and has excellent adhesion and water resistance, by blending a specified org. phosphoric compd. with a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. compd. (A) of formula I [wherein R1, R2 are each H, a 1-6C (halogen-substd.) hydrocarbon group, halogen; R3 is H, a 1-6C (halogen- substd.) hydrocarbon group, halogen, (CN; R4 is a group of formula II; Ra is (m+n) valent C5-C60 org. residue; m1-m4 are each 0-4; m1+m2+m3+m4 <=m; X1, X2 are each O, S, NRb; Rb is H, a 1-4C alkyl; Z is O, S; m is 1-4; n is 2-6; k is 0, 1] and 0-199pts.wt. vinyl monomer (B) (e.g. compd. of formula IIIwherein R5 is H, methyl; Rc is a bivalent C2-C54 org. residue) copolymerizable with component A are blended together to obtain the desired adhesive.
