PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of the operator, by registering automatically words, which are regarded as unregistered Katakana (cursive form of Japanese syllabary) independent words, in a Kana (Japanese syllabary)-Kanji (Chinese character) converting device provided with a Katakana word register dictionary. CONSTITUTION:If Katakana is included in a Kana character string set to a storage device 5 for Kana strings to be converted, a controller 1 inputs the Kana character string set to the storage device 5 and performs the preprocessing to check whether the Katakana character string in the Kana character string to be converted can be analyzed by an independent word dictionary or not before the execution of the Kana-Kanji conversion processing. If it cannot be analyzed, the whole of this Katakana character string is registered automatically in a Katakana word register dictionary 3. |
