摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent any defects such as an increased tube length, difficulty in achieving the accuracy of a deflecting yoke and a vertically long shape of peripheral spots, which might be caused when two cathodes are vertically arranged, by giving turning effect along the tube axis to a first and a second electron beam by means of a deflecting means and making them vertically apart from each other by a distance which is about 1/2 of the distance between scanning lines on a fluorescent screen. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second electron beam Bm1 and Bm2 discharged from a first and a second cathode K1 and K2 arranged in the horizontal direction (x), pass through grids and electrostatic deflecting plates 1 before being supplied on a fluorescent screen 4. The electrostatic deflecting plates 1 comprise three deflecting plates 1a, 1b and 1c which are arranged parallel to each other. The first electron beam Bm1 is caused to pass between the deflecting plates 1a and 1b and the second electron beam Bm2 is caused to pass between the deflecting plates 1b and 1c. The electrostatic deflecting plates 1 are rotated from the vertical direction (y) by a given angle (theta). On the fluorescent screen 4, the first and the second electron beams (Bm1) and (Bm2) are in the same position relative to the horizontal direction (x) and apart from each other by a distance (d) which is about 1/2 of the distance between scanning lines relative to the vertical direction (y).
