PURPOSE:To set a gap stable between recording mediums with a simple constitution by providing a groove for increasing or decreasing pressure of a prescribed shape to a sliding face of a slider. CONSTITUTION:The groove 11a for increasing or decreasing pressure of chevron shape having an angle theta is provided to the sliding face 1a of the slider and the positive pressure of increased pressure or the negative pressure of decreased pressure is changed depending on the angle theta. Then, the groove for increasing pressure is formed narrower toward the tip in the direction reverse to the relative moving direction between the magnetic head and the recording medium and the depth of the groove is 1.5-5 times the floating gap. In providing a required number of the grooves 11a to a prescribed position of the face 1a, the increased and decreased pressures are balanced, the gas with the recording midium is set stably at all times with simple constitution not requiring a taper part needing troublesome adjustment and excellent recording and reproduction are attained. |
