PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance under mild conditions, by reacting CO with H2 in the presence of a catalyst containing a ruthenium compound, an aminopyridine compound and an aromatic hydrocarbon having a diazine, triazine, triazole or tetrazole skeleton. CONSTITUTION:CO is reacted with H2 to give the titled substance. In the process, a catalyst consisting of (A) a ruthenium compound, an aminopyridine compound and (C) an organic nitrogen-containing compound selected from an aromatic hydrocarbon having a diazine, triazine, triazole and tetrazole skeleton is used as a catalyst, and the reaction is carried out at 100-300 deg.C under 30- 1,000kg/cm<2>G pressure for 0.3-10hr. The ruthenium concentration is 1X10<-5>- 10g atom expressed in terms of ruthenium atoms per l reaction solution, and the amount of the component (B) to be used is 10-500mol based on 1g atom ruthenium. Pyrazine, etc. is used as the component (C) in an amount of 0.05-500mol based on 1g atom ruthenium. |
