PURPOSE:To give flexibility to a cable, also to average a stress applied to an optical fiber and also a stress in the longitudinal direction of one optical fiber, and to always hold an applied distortion in the minimum state, by twisting alternately to the left and right the whole spacer containing the optical fiber, wraping and binding firmly a collected body of the whole spacer with a tape or a string, and holding it. CONSTITUTION:A tape 3' is bent so that its section becomes a V-shape or a U- shape by a bending device 32, and forms a spacer 3. The spacer 3 and an optical fiber 2 are collected together by a die 33, the optical fiber 2 is contained in the spacer 3, and all of them are gathered. Subsequently, they are grasped by a left and right inversion oscillator 34, and twisted alternately to the left and right periodically in the longitudinal direction. A binder 35 is provided just behind the oscillator 34 so that this alternate twist is held, and at this stage, a tape 4 is wound firmly, the whole is bundled firmly, and the left and right alternate twisted shape can be held completely. |
