PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to attain sure recording by converting picture information where black dots are consecutive in horizontal and vertical directions into white information while leaving several dots of a changing area in a recorder of heat-sensitive recording system. CONSTITUTION:When picture information is transmitted from the transmission side to registers 4-6, the information is read for each one line's share by a picture converter 7 and the data in the register 5 is read at each line in this case. Further, whether or not N black dots are consecutive in the register 5 is decided in this case. Moreover, whether or not the black dot consecutive part exists in the preceding and succeeding lines is discriminated, all dots are converted into white dots while leaving M dots of the white/black changing area and the result is transferred to a buffer memory 8.
