PURPOSE:To provide a heat-mode optical recording medium improved in preservability, particularly in deterioration of S/N ratio due to preservation at high temperature, wherein a light-absorbing substance obtained by cross-linking a dye having a functional group with a compound having a functional group by a metal cross-linking agent is used. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording medium wherein a recording layer composed of a light-absorbing body or a composition thereof is provided on a base, a material obtained by cross-linking at least one dye having a functional group (e.g., OH, COOH or SO3H), e.g., 3,3'-di(6-hydroxyhexyl)-11-diphenylamino-10,12- ethylene-5,6,5',6'-dibenzothiatricarbocyanine perchlorate, and at least one compound having a functional group, e.g., ethylene glycol or succinic acid, by a metal cross-linking agent, e.g., an organic compound or chelated compound of Ti, Zr or Al, is used as the light-absorbing substance. |
