PURPOSE:To stably perform signal transmission between main body machinery and a rotary head both of which have no mechanical continuity in an extremely smooth manner through a space in a short transmission path, by performing the transmission of a printing content transmitting signal from said machinery to the rotary head by light. CONSTITUTION:For example, a large number of heat generating elements 2 are formed to the surface of a rotary type thermal head and a driver 3 for individually driving said heat generating elements 2 is fixed in the thermal head 1. When a printing signal enters main body machinery 6, an optical signal transmitter 9 transmits a printing content transmitting signal while converts the same to an optical signal which in turn reaches a driver 3 through an optical coupler 10, an optical fiber 5 and a photoelectric converting coupler 11. Whereupon, the heat generating elements 2 on the rotary head are driven corresponding to printing content by the driver 3 and printing is performed while dots are formed. |
