PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous printing caused by external noise, by a method wherein a character signal of one line is sent into a rotary head as an electrical signal therein to be temporarily stored before printing. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary head 1 wherein support plates 2 each corresponding to each line of characters to be printed are provided to the peripheral wall of a drum shaped substrate and a large number of groups 3 of heat generating elements are arranged to said plates 2, a receiving side photocoupler 5 is arranged to the hollow rotary shaft 4 of the head 1 while a transmitting side photocoupler (e.g., one containing an LED element) is brought into contact with said photocoupler 5 in a slidable manner. The signal of a character to be printed is converted to a digital optical signal by the photocoupler 5 to be transmitted to the rotary head 1 while the optical signal is converted to an electric signal in the side of the head 1 by the photocoupler 5 to be temporarily stored in a shift register and, when the reception of said line is finished, the printing signal of said line is simultaneously transmitted to perform printing. |
