An apparatus for displaying mixed-media visual matter on a subway car, and a subway car adapted to display a combination of visual media, are provided. An internal wall structure comprising panels is provided proximate to a junction of a sidewall and ceiling of the subway car. At least one panel comprises an enclosure for retaining a video display directed obliquely downwardly towards the subway car interior, with its screen substantially flush with or at least partially recessed behind a concavely curved surface of the internal wall structure, where the concavely curved surface is defined by concavely curved fronts of one or more panels. The panels are thus configured to present printed matter on the internal wall structure surface on at least one of the panels and video content displayed on the screen in substantially horizontal alignment and at substantially at the same depth with respect to the subway car interior. |
