The linear drive device works with two motors (M1, M2) which are attached to the outer end of two tubular pieces (1, 2) displaceable telescopically one in the other and secured against rotation. One motor (M1) drives a nut (31) via a hollow coupling element (3), and the other motor (M2) drives a screw spindle (4). This construction provides a compact self-contained drive device. <IMAGE>
