CENTERING, JOINING AND FITTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify the operation for joining and fitting of members to each other and to reduce cost by centering the two members by the 1st chucking driver and centering device and abutting both members by the 2nd chucking driver. CONSTITUTION:A worm wheel 12a is rotated by the operation of a driving motor 14 provided to the 1st device 2 and a roller 7a is moved upward or downward together with a supporting member 9a to adjust the position of the roller 7a. A gear device 23 for vertical movement is moved upward or downward by the reduction gear 21 of a centering device 4 simultaneously with the above-mentioned movement to adjust the position of a stage 25 in combination with the movement of a cylinder 24. A piping 1 is then placed on the roller 7a and an arm 17 is turned to fix the piping 1 by a press roller 18. On the other hand, an elbow 3 is placed on the stage 25 and a handle 32 is operated to close chucking pawls 30, thereby gripping the elbow 3. The stage 25 is lowered and a handle 27 is operated to move the entire part of the 2nd device 5 to adjust the root gap between the piping 1 and the elbow 3. The piping 1 and the elbow 3 are thus made ready for welding.
