PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for encapsulating a motion picture expert group (MPEG) media transport (MMT) asset in an international organization for standardization (ISO) foundation media file.SOLUTION: A device includes a reception path circuit configured to receive a motion picture expert group (MPEG) media transport (MMT) container, and a processing unit configured to identify the position of one or more media fragment units (MFUs) in the MMT container by using the hint track therein.
