PURPOSE:To obtain good quality printing on a recording medium with poor surface smoothness, by performing recording under the action of line of magnetic force by using a heat transfer material having an ink layer prepared by dispersing a powdery magnetic material, an oil agent and a blowing agent in a binder in such a state that at least the former two are micro-encapsulated. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer layer 3, wherein a powdery magnetic material (e.g., an Fe or Co powder with an average particle size of 0.05-5mum), an oil agent liquid or semi-solid at an atmospheric temp. (e.g., cotton seed oil or vaseline) and a blowing agent (e.g., MgCO3 or BaN6) are dispersed in a heat-meltable binder (e.g., paraffin wax or polyethylene) in such a state that at least the former two are dispersed in the form of microcapsules 5 each usually having a particle size of 0.1-10mum, is formed onto a support 2 to obtain a heat transfer material 1. This thermal transfer material 1 is laminated to a recording medium 7 so as to oppose the aforementioned ink layer to said recording medium 7 and, thereafter, thermal transfer recording is performed, while magnetic attraction force directing to the recording medium 7 from the transfer material 1 is acted, to obtain an ink recording image. |
