PURPOSE:To smoothly feed heat sensitive paper to the downstream side by certainly preventing the printed heat-sensitive paper from jamming with a protective cover, by forming a piercing hole to the specific position of a substrate, and providing a guide projection for guiding the heat sensitive paper to a heat dissipating plate so as to pierce through the aforementioned piercing hole. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal printing head wherein a heat generator 2 is mounted to the surface of an insulating substrate 1 comprising ceramic and a heat dissipating plate 3 is provided to the back surface of said substrate 1, a piercing hole 9 is formed to the substrate between the usual heat generator 2 and the protective cover 5 on said substrate in the downstream side in the feed direction of heat-sensitive paper 7 with respect to the heat generator 2 and a guide projection 10 for guiding the heat-sensitive paper is formed to the heat dissipating plate 3 so as to pierce through the aforementioned piercing hole 9. The shape of the piercing hole 9 is preferably formed so as to correspond to the shape of the guide projection 10. EFFECT:The printed heat-sensitive paper 7 is certainly prevented from jamming with the protective cover 5 by such a phenomenon that said heat-sensitive paper enters the gap (l) between the end part in the side of the protective cover 5 of the heat generator 2 and the surface of the printing head. Because of a simple structure, the printing head can be easily prepared. |
