PURPOSE:To enable extremely exact determination of the height of two heads by working preliminarily a reinforcing member having a specified thickness and attaching two head cores to the reinforcing member. CONSTITUTION:Head core chips 14, 14' are adhered by using glass bonding, etc. to a reinforcing member 15 so as to have different azimuth angles. If a transparent or translucent material is used for the material 15 to make the material see-through, the operator can adhere the materials while viewing the same and therefore the exact determination of the spacing between the gaps is made possible. A non-magnetic material such as glass is disposed between the chips 14 and 14' by sputtering, etc. and the chips 14, 14' and a non-magnetic material 17 are machined with the surface 25 as a reference until the chips and said material are parallel with the surface 25 and have a prescribed thickness. Since the thickness of the reinforcing member can be extremely exactly determined, the extremely exact determination of the height of the head gaps 16, 16' of the chips 14, 14' from the surface 25 and the head width is made possible. |
