PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness in system operation, by cutting off an ignition circuit till an engine speed reaches the specified setting one in time of automatic engine stopping and afterward, energizing the ignition circuit with a continuous rating current even after an engine stops. CONSTITUTION:When a car stop is detected by a control unit 1 on the basis of output of an engine speed sensor 10, a coil 2b of an ignition relay 2 is energized with current for a while till an engine speed reaches the specified setting one or for a set time after the elapse of the time, so that a normally opened contact 2a is opened. Therefore, all functions in an ignition circuit consisting of an ignition coil 3 and a point 4 are stopped whereby an engine comes to a stop. After that, the ignition relay is restored to its original state and the normally opened contact 2a is closed in consequence, and again a continuous rating current flows in the ignition circuit, coming into a state of standing ready for restarting. With this constitution, responsiveness in time of starting is improvable. |
