PURPOSE:A light recording medium of heat mode having improved deterioration in reproduction such as deterioration in S/N ratio, etc., improved light resistance, a little deterioration in physical properties caused by storage in a lighted room, obtained by adding a cyanin dyestuff, etc. and a specific recording layer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A cyanin dyestuff [preferably compound shown by the formula phi-L=psi(X<-1>)m (phi, and psi are indole ring or thiazole ring in which aromatic ring may be condensed; L is connecting group to form mono-, di-, tri-, or tetracarbocyanin dyestuff; X<-> is anion, m is 0 or 1), or it and a resin (e.g., polyolefin, etc.) are blended with (B) a quencher shown by the formula [R<1> is (substituted)alkyl, or aryl; R<2>-R<5> are H, or monofunctional group, R<2> and R<3>, R<3> and R<4>, or R<4> and R<5> may be linked each other to form 6-membered ring; m is transition metal] in a molar ratio of the component B to the dyestuff of (0.1- 1.2):1 to give a recording layer. The recording layer is formed on a substrate to give the desired medium. |
