PURPOSE:To enable to move a moving unit in the prescribed direction by providing a linear encoder, electrically returning the moving unit to the origin signal position of an encoder, and then normally controlling the movement, thereby eliminating a position detector. CONSTITUTION:A stator 2 is formed by disposing an armature 5 made of an armature coil 4 group on the upper surface of the stator, and a moving unit 3 secured with a 4-pole field magnet is movably disposed in response to the armature. An encoder 8 made of a linear scale 9 having slits on the stator 2 is provided at the unit 3 with a photoelectric converter 11, an origin position detecting switch 13 is provided at the origin of the encoder 8 to form a semiconductor linear motor. A current is flowed through the coil 4 in the prescribed direction to return the unit 3 to the position of the switch 13, and the current is flowed on the basis of the number of pulses counted from the position to move it. Accordingly, the construction can be simplified without using a position detector. |
