RADIO PAGER WITH DISPLAY DEVICE

A radio pager has a receiver for receiving and demodulating a carrier wave with a selective calling signal and a message signal to provide demodulated selective calling and message signals. A detector in the pager detects from the demodulated selective calling signal a selective calling signal assigned to the radio pager to provide a detected signal. The pager includes circuitry responsive to the detected signal for delivering an alert signal. A first memory stores the demodulated message signal. Various second memories respectively store various message signals from the first memory. A first display displays the message signal stored in the second memory. A comparator compares the message signal stored in the first memory with the message signal stored in the second memory and transfers the message signal from the first memory to one of the second memories when the compared message signals are different from each other.
