<p>The present invention provides a novel method for removing minor amounts of isopropyl alcohol from a process stream primarily comprising tertiary butyl alcohol. The separation of isopropyl alcohol from tertiary butyl alcohol is accomplished by providing an adsorbent comprising asymetric apertures greater than five angstroms in length, and less than five-angstroms in width. Preferably, a carbonaceous adsorbent comprising such apertures is utilized to effect the separation of isopropyl alcohol from tertiary butyl alcohol.</p> |
