PURPOSE:To reduce load of a control portion by controlling the start of time counting means according to whether the number of transported articles on a conveyer is the maximum or below it in a jam detection system for a transported article on the conveyer. CONSTITUTION:A transported article 2 is supplied to a storage conveyer 1 and counted by a counter 4. When the number of articles is below the maximum N, the counter 4 will not output a signal (a). In this case, a time counter 5 is started in response to a signal (c) that a sensor S3 detects a transported article 2 at the starting point. If the sensor S3 does not detect any transported article within a fixed period of time, there is no abnormality and in response to a signal (d), the time counter 5 is reset. If the number of articles amounts to the maximum N, the time counter 5 is started in response to a signal (e) of a terminal sensor S4 that there is no transported article 2. This arrangement can reduce load of a control portion. |
