PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core catcher capable of protecting heat-resistant material from impact load of core melt and the like falling from a reactor pressure vessel, and suppressing corrosion of a floor surface of a reactor containment vessel due to the core melt.SOLUTION: A core catcher 4 is arranged on a floor surface 3 disposed below a reactor pressure vessel 1 in a reactor containment vessel, and includes at least one layer of a heat-resistant layer 11A. The heat-resistant layer 11A includes: a plurality of horizontally arranged heat-resistant material blocks 8A; at least one protection plate 9A that covers the upper part of the plurality of heat-resistant material blocks 8A; and a plurality of support members 10A that support the protection plate 9A without applying load to the heat-resistant material blocks 8A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
