PURPOSE:To enable formation of an image high in density with high sensitivity through thermodevelopment by forming a layer contg. a surface latent image type silver halide emulsion, an org. silver salt oxidant, a binder, and a compd. having reducing action on said silver halide and/or said org. silver salt oxidant. CONSTITUTION:A layer formed on a support contains at least a surface latent image type silver halide (AgX) emulsion, an org. silver salt oxidant, a binder, and a compd., such as so-called reducing agent or a reducing dye donor, having reducing action on said AgX or said oxidant. As said surface latent image type AgX emulsion, ones being a surface latent image type on the whole are usable, even if a part of AgX grains is of an inner latent image type. Therefore, a mixture of both types can be used. Its effect can be exhibited so long as said org. silver salt oxidant is present in this system. Such a constitution permits an image high in density to be obtained with high sensitivity in a state free from water. |
