PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductive member stabilized in electric, optical, and photoconductive characteristics, having all-environment resistance and superior durability, and capable of forming a high-quality image by forming on a substrate a photoreceptor composed of the first layer made of a-SiH, the second layer made of a-SiGeH, and the third layer made of a-SiN in this order. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive photoreceiver 102 composed of the first layer 103 of a-SiH, the second layer 104 of a-SiGeH, and the third layer 105 of a-SiN is formed in this order on a substrate 101. A conductivity-govering material is, preferably, incorporated in either of the layer 103 and the layer 104. H and/or halogen is contained in the layer 105. The photoconductive member thus formed is superior in electric, optical, and photoconductive characteristics, good in voltage withstand property and use environment resistance, and especially when used in electrophotography, free of residual potential trouble affecting image formation, stabilized in electric characteristics, high in sensitivity and S/N ratio, good in durability, and it can form a high-quality image high in image density and resolution. |
