PURPOSE:To prevent contamination due to toner by setting a cleaning blade and a photosensitive drum at distance which is a specific value shorter than the minimum distance between the photosensitive drum and any other member when accumulated toner is carried. CONSTITUTION:The distance between the photosensitive drum 31 and cleaning blade 34 is varied by turning a blade holder 36 around a support shaft 35. When the toner is accumulated, the cleaning blade 34 and photosensitive drum 31 are brought into contact as shown by a dotted line in a figure to accumulated toner T1. A toner fall preventive roller 41 is allowed to contact its lower part gently. When the accumulated toner T1 is carried to a developing part 33, the cleaning blade 34 is permitted to leave the photosensitive drum 31 at distance l12. The distance l12 is set with a stopper pin 37 0.5mm. shorter than, for example, minimum distance l10 of a toner scatter preventive member 40. Thus, other members are prevented from being contaminated with the toner. |
