PURPOSE:To prepare soil substitute which makes it possible to cultivate crops only by sprinkling of water without need of ordinary soil, by mixing oil cake and mineral into fermented and matured rice bran and impregnating natural fiber with the mixt. CONSTITUTION:Oil cake is mixed into fermented and matured rice bran and the mixt. is left to stand for a long period. Mineral (rare earth mineral contg. more than twenty elements including basic minor element minerals, soluble silicic acid and magnesium and calcium as chlorophyl source, etc.) is added to the above and the mixt. is again left so stand. Impurities are removed from the mixt. by means of a metal gauze, etc. and it is applied to natural fiber such as cotton for thorough impregnation, followed by drying to produce the soil substitute. The soil substitute makes it possible to cultivate paddy, greens, etc. readily only by sprinkling water on a veranda or in a room without use of ordinary soil. |
