PURPOSE:To manufacture a Cu-base material for deep drawing having superior deep drawbility, strength and hardness and causing hardly surface roughening and edging by forming a Cu-base material into a thin plate of a desired thickness by repeated cold rolling and annealing and by subjecting the thin plate to final annealing and slight cold rolling. CONSTITUTION:A Cu-Zn alloy contg. 35% Zn is hot rolled, and the resulting plate of 15mm. thickness is formed into a thin plate of 5mm. final thickness by repeated cold rolling and annealing. The thin plate is subjected to final annealing at 350-700 deg.C for 1hr to form a soft material of <=15mum grain size, and slight cold rolling is carried out at 1-5% draft. A Cu-base material having high deep drawability, improved strength and hardness and causing hardly surface roughening and edging is manufactured.
