<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the unevenness of vertical orientation by removing thin films formed where an adhesive sticks through ultraviolet-ray irradiation when the peripheries of two electrode substrates having a water-repellent thin film for vertical orientation control on the internal surface are sealed with the adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Two substrates 1 and 2 which are provided electrodes 5 and 6 on internal wall surfaces and have water-repellent thin films 7 and 8 for vertical orientation control stuck are arranged opposite each other in parallel. Then, when the peripheries of both substrates 1 and 2 are sealed by using the adhesive 9, the thin films 7 and 8 formed where the adhesive 9 sticks are irradiated with ultraviolet rays 13 by using ultraviolet-ray lamps 12-1 and 12-2, etc., to remove the thin films by chemical reaction or weaken the water repellency of the thin films. Then, the peripheries of both substrates 1 and 2 are sealed with the adhesive 9 and liquid crystal 10 is injected to obtain the liquid-crystal display element.</p> |
