PURPOSE:To recover powdered coke which has been uselessly abandoned, by making dust containing coke produced during dry quenching of coke into water slurry, recovering coke by flotation method. CONSTITUTION:Water is added to dust containing coke prepared during dry quenching of coke to form slurry having 10-20wt% dust concentration, 30- 600ppm based on dust of a foaming agent (flotation agent consisting essentially of it) is added to it, and coke in the dust is recovered by flotation method. On the other hand, 2-10wt% binder based on solid material in tailing is added to the tailing after coke recovery, and stirred. Coke remaining in the tailing is flocculated and granulated. 300-600ppm based on solid material of a foaming agent (flotation agent consisting essentially of it) is added to the granulated coke, and the granulated coke is recovered by flotation method.
