PURPOSE:To carry-out grinding and polishing works by one apparatus by locking the driving shaft of a hydraulic cylinder and revolving a tool by a servomotor and then locking the driving shaft of the motor and pressing the tool onto a workpiece by the cylinder, in switching. CONSTITUTION:When a workpiece is machined by driving a frame 1 in the horizontal direction H, the output shaft of the brake 13 of an air cylinder 4 is locked by operating the brake 13, and the grinding work such as constant cutting-in work can be carried-out by vertically driving an air grinder 11 by a servomotor 3. While, the output shaft of the electromagnetic brake 12 of the servomotor 3 is locked by operating the brake 12, and the constant-pressure work such as polishing work can be carried-out by pressing and attaching a rotary grinding tool installed onto the air grinder 11, onto the workpiece by the air pressure by operating the air cylinder 4, and the grinding work and polishing work can be carried-out by one apparatus.
