PURPOSE:To reduce entrance of moisture into the inside of a battery so as to lengthen the reservation period of a battery, by wrapping the power generating elements so that the folding line will coincide with the longer side of the battery, and also by sealing the remaining three sides of the battery. CONSTITUTION:Flat power generating elements are covered by a cover 1 consisting of a multilayer film which, in turn, is mainly composed of resin film containing a metal foil as one of the middle layers. Then, the cover 1 of the rectangular flat-type battery composed of multilayer film is folded into two along the longer side of the battery and the three open sides are sealed. In this manner, the length of the cross section of the outer periphery is made smaller and entrance of moisture can be prevented as much as possible. |
