PURPOSE:To prevent defects of an image in successively forming copy images by controlling the true linearity of the outer circumference of a cylinder for supporting a photosensitive layer or a a photosensitive body to <=150mum. CONSTITUTION:The section of the cylinder 1 of an electrophotographic supporting member has a concave or convex outer circumference 2, 3, respectively and the cylinder 1 to be used for the electrophotographic supporting member has the max. deviation width d<=150mum from the standard line C joining both ends A, B of the cylinder 1. The copy image formed by using said cylinder is almost free from image defects even after several hundreds of successive copies, and especially when an average charging potential on the surface of a photoconducive film is >=500V or <=-500V, uneven charging can be suppressed within an allowable range, and image defects due to uneven electrostatic charging can be effectively prevented. |
