PURPOSE:To provide a recording material for use in an ink jet recording method, excellent particularly in ink absorptivity and in clearness of recorded images, which comprises a condensate of the isocyanate compound with a polyether polyol. CONSTITUTION:A condensate obtaining by mixing (A) an isocyanate compound, e.g., toluylene 2,4-diisocyanate, with (B) a polyether polyol, e.g., a copolymer of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide, and bringing the two components into reaction with each other is incorporated in an ink-absorbing layer which is preferably light-transmitting. The ink-absorbing layer is provided on a base to obtain the objective recording material. |
