The invention relates to thermoelectric semiconductor materials. The thermoelectric semiconductor materials based on silver, thallium and tellurium, according to the invention, are represented by the general formula (I) <IMAGE> in which x, y and z are between -0.10 and +0.10, but are not simultaneously zero. These materials have a figure of merit greater than 1, thus enabling them to be applied to Peltier-effect thermoelectric heat pumps.
