FUEL CELL ELECTRODE SUBSTRATE HAVING ELONGATED HOLES FOR FEEDING REACTANT GASES

A carbonaceous electrode substrate for a fuel cell has at least one porous layer 8 with elongated holes 7 for feeding reactant gases to the fuel cell. Preferably it incorporates a dense layer 9 capable of effecting a function as a separator sheet. Preferably two such porous layers 8 are provided on either side of the dense layer 9. The dense layer 9 can be extended beyond the two porous layers 8 to separate reactant gases.
