PRODUCTION OF IRREGULAR-SECTIONED COMPOSITE METALLIC WIRE AND COMBINATION DIE DEVICE USED IN SAID PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain an irregular-sectioned composite metallic wire having a coating layer without thickness deviation by using a composite metallic material of which the sectional shape has the intermediate shape of the target irregular shape and a circular shape and subjecting said material to one or plural stages of drawing under forced lubrication. CONSTITUTION:A combination die device for drawing under forced lubrication is constituted of a guide die 2 and a die housing 4 which forms a lubricating agent chamber 5 between side die and a drawing die 3. The composite metallic material 1 is conducted to the die 2 from the direction of an arrow (a). The through- hole of the die 2 is made into the shape resembling to the section of the material 1. The spacing between said hole and the material 1 is made 0.128-0.45mm. and the angle theta1 thereof is made 3-10 deg.. The angle theta2 of the die 3 is 3-10 deg.. The composite metallic material enters the chamber 5 through the die 2. The chamber 5 is maintained under the high pressure by the lubricating agent supplied by being carried by the composite lubricating agent from a lubricating agent supply chamber 6. The lubricating agent added with 5-10% molybdenum disulfide as an extreme-pressure additive is used.
