PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a fuel injection valve to aim at reducing the cost thereof, by dividing a pressure chamber communicated with a compression chamber which is pressurized in association with the rotation of a pump, into two subpressure chambers with the use of a plunger fitted into the pressure chamber, and by enabling the amounts of fuel fed to both pressure subchambers to be controlled with the use of only one shut-off means. CONSTITUTION:An injection plunger 9 which defines a first pressure chamber 100 communicated with fuel suction passages 40 in the number equal to the number of engine cylinders and a compression chamber 100 between a pair of pressure feed plungers 5, and a second pressure chamber 11 to which suction fuel passages 19 in the number equal to the number of engine cylinders are opened, is slidably fitted in a shaft 1 in which the pair of pressure feed plungers 5 are disposed, being opposed diametrial to each other while the plungers 5 are cooperated with a roller ring 4. Further, a solenoid valve 15 as a shut-off means is disposed between fuel passages 16, 14 to which fuel at a pressure P1 is fed, and the fuel passage 14 is selectively communicated with either a control passage 13 (not shown) which is adapated to be communicated with the first pressure chamber 10 or the suction fuel passages 19.
