SEALED CLAD TYPE LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To make current distribution of a negative plate uniform and increase discharge performance, especially high rate discharge performance by using copper covered with lead or lead alloy as a negative current collector. CONSTITUTION:A lead or lead alloy layer is formed on the surface of copper used as a current collector. Electroplating or dip brazing is used as the covering method of copper, or copper may be burried in the lead alloy grid. The grid or current collector using copper is filled with paste to form a negative plate. The negative active material is filled so that the copper current collector is not exposed on the surface of the negative plate. A clad type positive plate is used and electrolyte comprising gel-like dilute sulfuric acid is filled between positive and negative plates, and a separator is used if necessary.
