PURPOSE:To increase the adhering effect of a cord and rubber by forming concavity and convexity in a part of plural yarns, which compose an organic fiber cord embedded in rubber as reinforcement, and thereby creating concavity and convexity all over the surface of cord. CONSTITUTION:Within rubber in a pneumatic tire, an organic fiber cord 1 consisting of twisted plural yarns 2, 3 used for reinforcement is embedded. Through formation of concavity and convexity in at least part of yarns 2, 3, concave and convex parts are shaped all over the surface of the cord 1. In creating such shapes, yarns 2, 3 with different heat contraction rates, for instance, are heat-processed, and concavity is formed through shrinkage of the yarn with bigger heat contraction rate among the yarns 2, 3. By means of such a cord, the anchoring effect of the cord 1 on rubber can be expected, so that it is possible to enhance the adhering effect of the cord 1 and rubber and thereby increase durability of the pneumatic tire. |
