PURPOSE:To apply toner over a toner holding member or latent image carrying body and to improve the considerably the function which control the amount of toner, and to obtain a superior image by using magnetic particles which are treated with silicone resin and acrylic resin. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic particles 5 constituting a magnetic brush 8 never flow out on a sleeve 2 when the restraint based upon the magnetic filed of a magnet 7 is set larger than the conveyance force affected by a frictional force. When there is toner in the area of the magnetic brush 8, the ratio of magnetic particles of the magnetic brush and this toner is held nearly constant through the rotation of the sleeve 2. Consequently, even when the toner on the sleeve is consumed, toner is supplied to the area of the magnetic brush 8 automatically and the sleeve 2 is coated with an invariably constant amount of toner. The magnetic particles are treated with silicone resin and acrylic resin. The treatment quantity of the silicone resin and acrylic resin is 0.1-30wt% (preferably, 0.5-20wt%) of the magnetic particles. |
