The invention relates to a device for trimming the sail (4) of a sailboard by means of a trimming sheet (5) which is arranged between the rear end fitting (3) of a wishbone boom (1) and the clew (24) of the sail (4) and, for the purpose of reducing the trimming force effective at its free ends (6), is guided in the sense of block-and-tackle in deflection guides (13 to 16), it being possible for at least one of the free ends of the trimming sheet (5) to be releasably fastened to the wishbone boom (1). The aim of the invention is to develop the device in such a way that, while retaining simple deflection guides (13 to 16), the trimming force required at the free end (6) of the trimming sheet (5) is reduced by more than half compared with the trimming force effective at the clew (24). This is achieved in that at least two guides, namely a first (13) and a second guide (14), are held at the clew (24), in that at least two guides, namely a third (15) and a fourth guide (16), are arranged at the end fitting (3), and in that the deflection planes (19, 20) of the third and fourth guide (15, 16) on the end-fitting side are turned relative to the deflection planes (17, 18) of the first and second guide (13, 14) on the clew side in such a way that the guides (13 to 16) allocated to one another are essentially in alignment with one another at their take-up and run-off points facing one another for the trimming sheet (5). <IMAGE>
