PURPOSE:To make distance between electrodes to be constant by forming insulating glass layers, with pasted glass being painted and fired on the surface inside more than 0.2mm from the edge of base metal of a spacer, which fixes electrodes in a flat-type image display device. CONSTITUTION:When electrodes 11 and 12 in the flat-type image display device are joint-fixed through spacers, insulating glass layers 9 are prepared, with pasted glass being painted and fired on the surface inside more than 0.2mm from the edge of the base metal 8 which forms a spacer. The separator and electrodes 11 and 12 are piled-up and joint-fixed through joint material 13 made of low-melting-point glass. Therefore, since insulating glass layers 9 can be prevented from rising on the edge of the base metal 8, then obtaining uniform thickness of layers, the distance between electrodes 11 and 12 can be maintained constant, then enabling landing exactness of electron beams to phosphor to be improved. |
