PURPOSE:To stabilize operation in high-speed recording and record favorably, by a method wherein the quantity of information is counted, and a voltage impressed on a thermal head is varied on a time series basis according to the count so that power consumption of the head becomes constantly fixed. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head device 2 comprises a thermal head constituted of heating resistors arranged orderly, and comprises a shift register and a latch. Recording information given to the shift register is stored into the latch, and is outputted to the heating resistors on a time series basis by signals STRB 1-STRB4. A heating voltage correcting circuit 3 counts the quantity of information requiring driving of the heating resistors in each of a plurality of pieces of recording information DATA1-DATA4, and calculations for making constant the power cunsumption of the thermal head are performed on a time series basis according to the count. |
