PURPOSE:To improve a water absorbing property of the titled body and to ensure a formation of a good image against a change of a moisture by chemically modifying with a hydrophobic group on a surface of a photosensitive layer in the titled body provided said layer composed of an a-Si thereon. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the a-Si photosensitive layer is chemically modified with the hydrophobic group by reacting an alcohol to a silanol group contd. in the prescribed layer 1 in a presence of a hot concd. sulfuric acid and then by dehydrating and condensating said silanol group lying on the surface of the layer 1 and the alcohol at a temp. of 120-160 deg.C to introduce an alkoxy group on the surface of the layer 1. Another chemical modification is carried out by chlorinating the prescribed silanol group to introduce a chlorine atom on the surface of the layer 1 followed by treating the layer 1 with a Grignard reagent to introduce an alkyl group on the surface of the prescribed layer 1. |
