PURPOSE:To make possible the assembly and disassembly of a fixing device with a simple operation in a fixing device which passes a recording material between a pair of rollers and executes the fixing of said material by providing a bar-shaped heating element into the fixing roller and providing bearings between the roller and the bar-shaped heating element. CONSTITUTION:The fixing roller 7 coated on the surface with a release film, for example, fluororesin is fitted via a bearing 11 with the pipe heater 16 as a fulcrum shaft for rotation. A gear 10 which is a driving member is further mounted to the end of the roller 7 and both ends of the pipe heater are fixed to frames 25, 26 on both sides. A press-contact roller 8 and a press-contact roller bracket 8a as well as a cleaning roller 9 and a bracket 9a thereof are assembled to said roll by which the fixing device is constituted.
