Method for removing protection sheets arranged on plate-like bodies (11) by means of a two-side adhesive element (12) which may be extended, and formed or forming as a surface element. To this effect, a two-side adhesive element (12) is spread by means of rollers (1, 2) on the surface portions covering and masking an edge or a folded angle of the flat body (11). Thereafter, the surface portions of the adhesive element (12) on the flat body (11) are removed therefrom in the diagonal direction with respect to the sheet or in a direction which forms an angle alpha which is larger than O<o> and smaller than 90<o>. The two-side adhesive elements (12) are arranged on a carrier band (16) which is arranged on a pivoting dispenser (8, 9). The adhesive element (12) supplied by the dispenser (8, 9) is spread on the rollers (1, 2) or on the sheets already placed on the rollers. The adhesive surface may also be formed by spraying and/or dripping or spreading of a liquid adhesive to the surfaces of the rollers. The invention also relates to a device to implement such method; said device is comprised of an installation to carry out the spreading of an adhesive element and of another installation to remove the adhesive element and the polyester protection sheet attached to said adhesive element.
